It's official: After Jurassic World Rebirth's incredible opening, Scarlett Johansson is the highest-grossing lead actor, surpassing her Marvel Cinematic Universe co-stars Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey, Jr., Zoe Saldana, and Chris Pratt.
According to The Numbers, the top movies that contributed to this record include 2019's Avengers: Endgame ($2,717,503,922), 2018's Avengers: Infinity War ($2,048,359,754), 2012's The Avengers ($1,515,100,211), 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron ($1,395,316,979), 2016's Captain America: Civil War ($1,151,899,586), 2016's The Jungle Book ($951,806,722), 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($714,401,889), 2016's Sing ($631,064,182), 2010's Iron Man 2 ($621,156,389), and 2014's Lucy ($457,507,776).
According to Deadline, Jurassic World Rebirth earned $322.5M worldwide, making it the second-biggest opening in the iconic franchise behind Jurassic World, which came out in 2015.
In 2025, the actress also starred in The Phoenician Scheme and will next be seen in My Mother's Wedding, which will be released in theaters on August 8. She just premiered Eleanor the Great, her directorial debut, at the Cannes Film Festival.
Johansson has been acting since she was only 9 years old, with her earliest credits including North, Just Cause, The Client, Manny & Lo, If Lucy Fell, Fall, Home Alone 3, and The Horse Whisperer. Other notable projects include Lost in Translation, Asteroid City, Jojo Rabbit, Marriage Story, Her, and Under the Skin.
After being part of the MCU since Iron Man 2, she finally got her well-deserved and long overdue solo film with 2021's Black Widow. She recently joined the Transformers franchise as well by voicing Elita-1 for 2024's Transformers One.
In Jurassic World Rebirth, she leads as Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operations expert. Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein make up the rest of the cast.
