Fans of "Euphoria" star Sydney Sweeney received an updated on her latest project this week. It was revealed earlier this year that she's playing Christy Martin in an upcoming film.

Sweeney has ditched her usual look that fans are accustomed to seeing on screen to properly portray Martin, who finished her boxing career with a 49-7 record. The "Anyone But You" actress didn't just trade in her blonde hair for a much a shorter brunette hairdo, she bulked up in the gym.

On Monday, Sweeney shared a photo of her and Martin on the set of the latter's biopic. Fans got a good look at Sweeney's new hairstyle.

Sweeney's post on Instagram included a heartfelt message about Martin's story. Clearly, she has a lot of admiration for the first female boxer ever elected into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame.

"I don’t usually write a lot in my captions but this movie and experience I feel needs more than just a few words," Sweeney wrote. "We have wrapped filming Christy Martin’s story and it has been one of the most emotional, transformative experiences of my life. Christy’s journey is so deeply inspiring, and having her by my side during this process was nothing short of surreal. There were moments on set where I’d glance over at her standing by the monitors, cheering us on, and I’d just become so emotional. Knowing what she’s endured, what she’s pushed through to be there in that moment—it made me want to cry.

"... This story is so much bigger than just a film. It’s a testament to resilience, survival, and finding the strength to keep fighting. I can’t wait for you all to see it—not only because I’m proud of the transformation and the work I’ve poured into it, but because Christy’s story deserves to be told."

Sweeney teased that she'll kick some [expletive] in this film. That's a pretty good selling point.

Martin responded to Sweeney's message with some kind words of her own.

"Sydney, you are a terrific person," Martin said. "I smile every time I think of your celebrations in the ring. I honestly believe that you will change/ help many lives with this performance. I am so honored that it was you that chose to portray me."

We'll eventually find out if Sydney Sweeney did Christy Martin's story justice.

A release date for the Christy Martin biopic has not been announced yet. Sweeney will most likely be the first one to share that news.
