Sylvester Stallone's 'Rocky,' 'Rambo' memorabilia going up for auction

Cinephiles especially fond of Sylvester Stallone movies might want to set their alarms for Dec. 5.

That's when Julien's Auctions' "Property From the Life and Career of Sylvester Stallone" lot will become open for bidding both physically in Beverly Hills and online.

"On offer is a spectacular array of over 500 costumes, movie props, and memorabilia spanning his Hollywood blockbuster oeuvre of his most iconic films, entirely from Sylvester Stallone’s personal collection—the Rocky and Rambo movie franchises, Cliffhanger, Demolition Man, The Specialist, Assassins, Escape Plan, Cop Land, and The Expendables—as well as awards, fine jewelry, furniture, cigar accoutrement, and other gentlemen’s luxury items," the listing reads on Julien's Auctions' official website.

According to Reuters, the approximated 500 auction items from Stallone's personal collection are estimated to raise around $1.5 million.

"[Stallone is] a sports guy," Martin Nolan, executive director for Julien's Auctions, told the outlet. "That's what he represents, sports and hard graft, and people can relate to that. And that's why he's so collectable, and really, people have very little opportunity to own anything from his life and career until now."

"He actually is relocating," Nolan added, in response to why the 75-year-old, three-time Oscar nominee decided to sell off some of his most prized belongings. "He’s selling his house, so that's a perfect time for anyone to sort of downsize."

Julien's Auctions teased 31 of the items, including Stallone's handwritten original notebooks he used to develop the first four installments of Rocky, boxing gloves from Rocky III, boxing gloves from the more recent Creed films, the mouthguard he wore in the original 1976 Rocky, the cross necklace he wore as the titular character in Rambo, throwing knives from The Expendables, and more.
