'The Traitors' and Alan Cumming are opening the castle doors for civilian players in new NBC version

The Traitors is coming to NBC with a new version of the hit competition show that will feature civilian players. Alan Cumming, who hosts the Peacock version with reality celebrities, will return for the NBC spin-off, which will be filmed at the same castle in the Scottish Highlands. 

"We’re excited to bring along The Traitors' highly addictive fan base as we discover the next generation of legendary gamers and schemers," Sharon Vuong, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Programming, NBCUniversal Entertainment, shared. "With our resident host and gameplay master of ceremonies, Alan Cumming, on board to introduce complete strangers to new epic missions and twisted gameplay, this new version for NBC offers a unique opportunity for the cast and audience to meet each other for the first time and we know it will be incredible to watch."

"The Traitors’ format has proven itself as one of the most gripping and talked-about reality competition shows in the world," Stephen Lambert, CEO of Studio Lambert, the producers of both the Peacock and NBC versions, added. "We’re thrilled to be working with NBC to open up the experience to a new group of civilian players, whose stories and strategies will make the gameplay even more unpredictable – and, we hope, even more addictive for viewers."

A premiere date has not yet been announced, but production is scheduled to start next year. As for Peacock's The Traitors, the series has been renewed for two more seasons, with season 4 scheduled for 2026. 

The lineup includes Candiace Dillard Bassett (The Real Housewives of Potomac), Caroline Stanbury (The Real Housewives of Dubai), Colton Underwood (The Bachelor), Donna Kelce (“Mama” Kelce), Dorinda Medley (The Real Housewives of New York City), Eric Nam (Singer-Songwriter), Ian Terry (Big Brother), Johnny Weir (Olympic Figure Skater), Kristen Kish (Host, Top Chef), Rob Cesternino (Survivor), Lisa Rinna (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Mark Ballas (Dancing with the Stars), Maura Higgins (Love Island USA Aftersun), Michael Rapaport (Actor), Monét X Change (RuPaul's Drag Race), Natalie Anderson (Survivor), Porsha Williams (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), Rob Rausch (Love Island USA), Ron Funches (Comedian), Stephen Colletti (One Tree Hill), Tara Lipinski (Olympic Figure Skater), Tiffany Mitchell (Big Brother), and Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho (Survivor).
