With ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, the much-anticipated Disney+ revival of the beloved street-level hero, reaching closer to its release date, the speculations around the show have been at an all-time high. Among the biggest rumors? The supposed deaths of Karen Page and Foggy Nelson

Showrunner Dario Scardapane recently addressed these concerns head-on, keeping fans on their toes while emphasizing the importance of these characters in Matt Murdock’s world.

Dario Scardapane Calls Karen and Foggy The Heart And Soul Of Daredevil’s Story

Daredevil‘ isn’t just about a blind vigilante fighting crime with insane agility and Catholic guilt-it’s about his relationships. Matt Murdock’s closest friends, Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, have always been the emotional backbone of his story.

Scardapane made it clear that their presence is fundamental. “They are the heart and soul of this mythology… You get so much more out of Daredevil as a character and as a human being… Karen and Foggy are the family structure for our orphan Matt, and it was very important to have them,” he told SFXmagazine.

This statement provides some relief to fans who feared that Karen and Foggy would be absent from ‘Born Again’ or-worse-killed off. However, Scardapane also played coy when pressed about their fate, saying, “All those rumors are true. None of them are true.” This non-answer keeps the speculation alive.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Becomes The Highest Age-Rated MCU Show

Beyond character speculation, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is making waves for another reason-it’s officially one of the highest age-rated MCU projects. The Disney+ page for the series now lists it as TV-MA in the U.S. and 18+ in the U.K. and Europe, signaling that Marvel isn’t holding back when it comes to violence.

This isn’t entirely unprecedented. However, in the context of the current Disney-fied MCU, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ stands out. Additionally, the question is what exactly will push ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ into TV-MA territory? The first trailer offers some hints. Many fans believe that the real source of the show’s disturbing content may be its new villain: Muse.

Muse is a terrifyingly unhinged artist who uses human blood and body parts as his medium. Yes, you read that right. His “art” includes murals painted with blood from his still-living victims and even canvases made of human skin. So, if ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ leans into Muse’s comic-book depravity, it could easily become one of the most disturbing entries in the MCU.
