Desert chases, prison break-outs, and glorious slow-mo shots: it’s all there in the latest trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Three months since the first trailer dropped, Warner Bros. is revealing more of the long-awaited prequel to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road.

You don’t have to see that film to appreciate this, however. It's a standalone action film said to expand the origins of Charlize Theron’s powerhouse character.

It also details the downfall of the world. In one sequence we see a utopia of tall trees and green grass, which marks a bold departure from the dry dunes of the Mad Max universe. This is said to be the Green Place of Many Mothers, where young Furiosa is snatched.

From here, she falls into the hands of murderous bikers led by Chris Hemsworth’s Warlord Dementus. Check out how Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga shows off Chris Hemsworth’s Dementus.

In another sequence in the trailer, we see her break her confines and escape into the desert. Despite being set years before Mad Max: Fury Road, that film’s antagonist, Immortan Joe, is still casting his shadow.

“While the two Tyrants war for dominance,” reads the synopsis, “Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.” Watch the trailer below
