Sports fans are coming out on top whether their team wins or loses this week. DIRECTV has announced that millions of their streaming, satellite, and U-verse customers will be granted access to ESPN’s forthcoming streaming service (unlimited plan) at no extra cost. If you are thinking about signing up for DIRECTV or already a streaming or MySports customer, you’ll be granted access following the launch of this ESPN plan.

ESPN Streaming Coming to DIRECTV

As mentioned, DIRECTV will be providing its customers with the luxury of sports fandom through ESPN’s upcoming unlimited plan. What this means for fans is that you’ll have easier access to live games, highlights, and on-demand programming without having to tack on another subscription fee.

For those DIRECTV customers with a Gemini device and a Signature Package, you’ll see even more perks coming in the form of the Disney+ Bundle which not only includes ESPN’s streaming platform but also Hulu (Basic) and Disney+ at no additional cost.

DIRECTV is also planning to add HBO Max and Peacock ad-tier access to select packages later in the year. This not only gives customers almost everything they’ll need but this positions DIRECTV as a one-stop hub for entertainment and live sports.

The Bigger Picture for DIRECTV

  • A sports first strategy: Earlier this year DIRECTV partnered with Army, Duke, Ohio State, Texas, Oregon, and UNC
  • Simplifying streaming: While many streaming services have tried to limit the access from other platforms, DIRECTV is doubling down and getting everyone on board

A quote from Vince Torres, CMO at DIRECTV, followed up on this and stated, “DIRECTV continues to make it simple for customers to access all their content in a seamless personalized experience without having to search across multiple apps. With unmatched choice and flexibility, our customers can control their entertainment and pay only for the programming they value.”
