Watch Penn State football with Sling TV (Our preferred service)

  • Pricing begins at $40.00/mo
  • 31+ live TV channels
  • Free trial currently unavailable

Sling TV is a good, budget-friendly option for Penn State fans. With the Sling TV Blue plan, you’ll get access to Fox Sports 1 and 30 other channels for $40 per month. You can also stream Big 10 Network with the purchase of the Sports Extra package, which costs $11 per month.

Is Sling TV a good choice for sports fans?

Sling TV carries multiple national sports channels, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, FS1, FS2, TBS and TNT, which are all included with the purchase of a $$55 Orange & Blue plan subscription. Sports fans can also gain access to several more sports channels, such as NFL Network, Big 10 Network and more, with the Sports Extra package.

One downside of Sling TV, however, is that it can be quite a clunky process to gain access to the channels you want – some markets don’t offer NBC, ABC, CBS or Fox, which are home to some of the biggest sporting events of the year. To access your local affiliates of these networks, you would need an out-of-home TV antenna. Sling TV also does not currently carry any regional sports networks.

While Sling TV typically runs cheaper than its streaming competitors, the extra hassle may not be worth it.

What type of sports fan is Sling TV best for?

Sling TV is best for general sports enthusiasts who may want to see what’s on ESPN but would also be fine watching a sitcom instead. Sling TV is not for a diehard sports fan who wants to follow their favorite team that’s broadcasted across several channels in one season. You should choose Sling TV for your sports needs if you’re looking for an affordable streaming service that emphasizes price rather than sports.

Watch Penn State football with DIRECTV STREAM

  • Pricing begins at $79.99/mo
  • 90+ live TV channels
  • Free trial available

DIRECTV STREAM welcomes Penn State football fans with its extensive lineup of TV channels, including nearly every channel you need to catch the Nittany Lions in action. New DIRECTV STREAM customers can choose from four different subscription plans: Entertainment (79.99 per month), Choice ($108.99 per month), Ultimate ($119.99 per month) and Premier ($164.99 per month).

DIRECTV STREAM plans also include unlimited cloud DVR, which allows viewers to record and save their favorite moments, including a last-minute Penn State winning touchdown. Just keep in mind that to catch games on the Big 10 Network, you’ll need to add the DIRECTV Sports Pack to your monthly plan to catch all Nittany Lions snaps this season.

Is DIRECTV STREAM a good choice for sports fans?

DIRECTV STREAM is a solid choice for sports fans. In addition to several national sports channels such as ESPN and Fox Sports 1, DIRECTV STREAM also offers regional sports networks (RSNs) with the subscription of a Choice plan or higher. RSNs are a great addition to any channel lineup, giving viewers access to local sports in their area that aren’t broadcasted anywhere else.

DIRECTV STREAM also has one of the largest channel lineups in the industry; three of the four available plans include over 100 channels. DIRECTV STREAM is great for sports fans who enjoy every level of competition and may be new to streaming: DIRECTV STREAM’s interface mimics its satellite TV counterpart, making it easy for new users to make the switch from cable to streaming.

The biggest downside to DIRECTV STREAM is the price: sports fans will want to subscribe to at least a Choice plan to get the best lineup of sports channels, and even some sports channels aren’t available without the optional DIRECTV Sports Pack, which costs extra.

Watch Penn State football with Fubo

  • Pricing begins at $79.99/mo
  • 161+ live TV channels
  • Free trial available

Three of four Fubo plans include the channels you need to get your weekly fix of Nittany Lions football. Choose from four Fubo plans: Pro ($74.99 per month), Elite ($84.99 per month), Premier (94.99 per month) and Latino (32.99 per month).

Fubo subscribers also get access to 1000 hours of Cloud DVR and the ability to stream both in and out of the home across a wide variety of devices. A few Fubo plans also give subscribers the ability to stream a select number of events in 4K.

Is Fubo a good choice for sports fans?

Fubo is great for viewers who want a variety of sports to choose from, from college football to tennis tournaments to international soccer matches. These fans also prefer to watch their favorite teams in every room of the house – Fubo supports up to ten concurrent streams at home.

One downside of Fubo is the capped DVR space. If you’re sharing your Fubo account with the rest of your household, 1000 hours of Cloud DVR may not stretch as far as you want it to.
