Andrew Tate makes his Misfits debut on December 20 in Dubai as he will fight the Misfits Heavyweight Champion Chase DeMoor.

Tate is an ex-pro kickboxer, who has never had a professional boxing bout. His kickboxing record stands at 76 wins and 9 losses. However, his last fight took place in 2020 when he beat Cosmin Lingurar at KO Masters 8. A boxing fight has been a long-time coming after he was linked with a whole host of names.

Jake Paul was one of those first mentioned, but The Problem Child is currently scheduled to face Gervonta Davis in a November 14 exhibition. Darren Till also called out Tate after he stopped Luke Rockhold in his last fight, but that never gained any traction.

Chase DeMoor is best known for being a TV star, having appeared on the Netflix series ‘Too Hot To Handle.’ He enters the title defense following a majority decision win over Efrain Carranza Gonzalez earlier this year. The winner could face the Bridgerweight Champion Darren Till, leaving plenty on the line.

Reaction

“Welcome to your new CEO, it wasn’t a hostile takeover but it was certainly planned and Mams [Taylor] and I are going to be working together to finally put Misfits where it belongs on the world stage. The largest disruptive force in sports entertainment history, so considering that somebody that failed at their obligations to make this organisation as big as it should’ve been has been ousted and I’m the new CEO.

“KSI tweeted something that annoyed me three years ago, so long story short: I took his company from him. And considering that I’m the largest name on the planet, if I’m gonna fight on an organisation, why not fight on an organisation that I own a percentage of? It makes a lot of business sense,” Tate said

The Approach

The success for Tate in his boxing debut hinges on his ability to translate his professional kickboxing defense and distance management into boxing. Tate, who primarily competed at lighter weight classes, must prioritize superior footwork and head movement to compensate for any potential lack of size or power. His key tactic will be to utilize a sharp, active jab to establish the range, disrupt Chase DeMoor’s rhythm, and dictate the pace. Tate’s history suggests he excels at counter-punching.

DeMoor, who relies heavily on his natural size and relentless pressure, cannot allow Tate to settle into a rhythm. His game plan will focus on immediately closing the distance, forcing ugly, messy exchanges, and exhausting the former kickboxer’s cardio, which is a known vulnerability for fighters returning after a long absence or moving up in weight. DeMoor will aim to press forward behind a high guard, constantly threatening with power shots, and initiating the clinch to tire Tate.
