Archie Manning reveals which NFL team he'd like his grandson Arch Manning to play for and it's not the New Orleans Saints

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning won't be eligible for the NFL draft until 2026, but his grandfather, former New Orleans Saints and Ole Miss quarterback Archie Manning, already knows which NFL team he wants his grandson to play for.

A recent video of Archie Manning being asked about his grandson and the NFL went viral, and surprisingly, Archie didn't name the Saints as the team he hopes will draft Arch.

"I hope he'll play three years at Texas," says Archie in the video. "I hope he'll play three more years. You know it's funny, nobody's ever asked me that. But right off the bat, if somebody asked me, I'd say the Cowboys."

Archie played for the Saints from 1971-1982. And as a result, New Orleans has been home base for the Manning family for five decades.

But it sounds like Archie would prefer his grandson to play for the Cowboys. That would certainly be a fun destination for the young quarterback -- especially after playing college football in nearby Austin.

The Cowboys, however, have quarterback Dak Prescott under contract through the 2028 season, so it seems unlikely that Arch will land in Dallas. But things can change quickly in the NFL. If Cowboys owner Jerry Jones senses that Arch could be the next great Hall of Fame-caliber NFL quarterback, then perhaps he'll find a way to get the former five-star recruit to Dallas.
