Cardinals take UAB WR Tejhaun Palmer 191st overall in NFL Draft

Needing multiple receivers before the 2024 NFL season, the Arizona Cardinals selected Marvin Harrison Jr. at No. 4 and now pinpointed UAB WR Tejhaun Palmer with the No. 191 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Palmer redshirted all three seasons (2021-23) with the Blazers and played 36 games. The Wisconsin native gathered 80 receptions for 1,379 yards and scored nine touchdowns.

Last year, Palmer suited up for 12 games and had 47 catches for 858 yards and seven touchdowns.

Per draft analyst Steve Muench, Palmer may need to work on catching but can be a quick and shifty option for the Cardinals.

“Palmer is a vertical threat who has good speed and averaged 18.3 yards per catch in 2023,” Muench said. “He had five drops last season, but he has the frame, length and big hands to win 50-50 balls.”

Both Palmer and Harrison Jr. will enter a receiver core consisting of Chris Moore, Zach Pascal, Michael Wilson, Greg Dortch, Dan Chisena, Jeff Smith, Andre Baccellia, Kaden Davis and Daniel Arias in Arizona.

To finalize the Cardinals’ work unless there is a trade, the team will select in the seventh round at 226th overall.
