Germany continues their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup when they face Finland in an international friendly at the MEWA Arena on May 31.
The match gives Julian Nagelsmann another chance to assess his squad and build momentum ahead of the tournament.
Germany head into the game with confidence after a strong finish to their World Cup qualifying campaign.
After an inconsistent start that included a defeat against Slovakia, they recovered well and won the rest of their qualifying matches to finish top of UEFA Group A and secure direct qualification for the World Cup.
The Germans have also carried that momentum into their recent friendlies. Wins against Switzerland and Ghana during the March international window helped extend their positive run, and Nagelsmann will be looking for another solid performance before facing the United States in their next warm-up match.
Germany will be part of Group E at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Curaçao, Ivory Coast and Ecuador.
Meanwhile, Finland arrive in Germany with a different objective. The visitors failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will use these friendlies to prepare for upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.
