It’s one of the toughest days in all of sports. NFL roster cut-down day. And for the Los Angeles Chargers, there are plenty of tough decisions being made.
The secondary has turned into a position of depth for the Chargers, and so it was going to be tough for every player to make it through, just not enough room.

This really just became a numbers game. Bridges was buried on the depth chart and was not able to break through.
Heading into cut day, the corners ahead of him on the Los Angeles Chargers’ unofficial depth chart were:
It is unlikely that the Chargers will keep six CBs, let alone seven. Bridges finished the preseason with 15 solo tackles and one pass broken up.

Bridges played five years at Oregon before transferring to the SEC and Florida for his final year. Last season, he finished with 70 combined tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions.
The Chargers will hope that he slips through waivers so that they can add him back to the practice squad. He has a lot of upside, but was unable to break through a very deep room in 2025.
