Baltimore Ravens fans enjoy being able to laugh at their division rivals and the team that's been the easiest to laugh at for quite some time now is the Cleveland Browns. It'd take less time to put together a list of the things the Browns are doing right than what they're doing wrong but the main talking point involving the Browns this offseason has been the plethora of quarterbacks they have on their roster.
Deshaun Watson isn't going to play in 2025 and it's likely that we've seen the end of that era in Cleveland. The Browns also have 40-year-old Joe Flacco, former first-round bust Kenny Pickett, and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders on their roster for the 2025 season.
Funny enough, Gabriel went in the third round and ahead of Sanders, who many had pegged as a first-round talent. Sanders fell to the fifth round and the Browns, despite already snagging a quarterback they clearly liked, ended the fall by drafting the controversial Colorado signal-caller.
Gabriel is the quarterback we'll fixate on here though. Gabriel spent time at three different colleges but was drafted out of Oregon after putting together a solid season for them in 2024. As far as his NFL stock is concerned, however, Zac Jackson, Browns beat reporter for The Athletic, recently noted that Gabriel "doesn't look like an NFL quarterback" to him.
The Browns quarterback situation is pure comedic entertainment for Ravens fans and this Gabriel quote is yet another funny layer to that. The Browns not only spent a third-round pick on a guy who "doesn't look like an NFL quarterback" but they did so before spending a fifth-rounder on another quarterback. Only the Browns would do something like this, wouldn't they?
It makes things easier for the Ravens given how difficult the AFC North is as a division because it ensures one team likely won't be competitive this year. Now if only the Bengals and Steelers could start producing this kind of quality entertainment and not keep posting winning records, then Ravens fans would truly be on cloud nine.
For now though, Ravens fans will take the cheap entertainment where they can get it. The Browns spending a third-round draft choice on a guy who doesn't even look the part of an NFL quarterback is such a classic Browns move. You just can't make this stuff up.
