The Wisconsin Badgers staff extended a scholarship to an unranked 2027 safety previously who many believe to be an under-the-radar gem.
Julius Fuentes-Bream, a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native who attends Bishop McDevitt, currently remains unranked in some databases. However, the 6-foot-2-inch, near 200-pound safety has an impressive 16 school offer list that can speak for itself. Arkansas, California, Cincinnati, Louisville, Minnesota, Missouri, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, and UCLA have all offered the recruit.
The Wisconsin Badgers staff offered the talented defensive back a scholarship back in January before programs such as Arkansas, Ole Miss, Missouri, and UCLA offered the recruit. Fuentes-Bream has seen his recruitment take off recently as many programs begin to shift focus from the 2026 cycle to the 2027 cycle.
The safety has also stayed busy this summer, attending multiple camps and performing extremely well in front of an array of coaches. Fuentes-Bream has even landed himself on the radar of Penn State, a school whose offer could hold tons of value for the in-state product.
Safety is a position where the Wisconsin Badgers have used a specific criteria to recruit and Fuentes-Bream checks all of the boxes. The safety stands tall with a massive frame for the position that the staff tends to prefer, accompanied by exceptional speed that also impresses the staff. The balance Fuentes-Bream has between speed, technical prowess, and size has been a major reason why the 2027 recruit continues to hear from the Badgers early.
According to the safety, the Wisconsin Badgers have been one of the most active recruiters thus far into the process after dropping an offer in January. Fuentes-Bream expressed a desire to visit campus and experience what Madison has to offer as the process continues to move along.
Moving forward, the Wisconsin staff will likely continue to push hard for Fuentes-Bream as the Badgers are working priority targets early. The safety is arguably the top player at the position who the Badgers have kept close contact with and could be ‘the guy’ at the position for the staff in the future.
