Golf best bets: 3 props for the Charles Schwab Challenge

Coming off a fantastic major championship week, the PGA Tour rolls on to Texas for the Charles Schwab Challenge at the revamped Colonial Country Club. Although Colonial might look a bit different after its $20 million renovation, it's still going to play as a short, positional golf course that emphasizes driving accuracy, iron play and a hot putter.

With that in mind, let's check out our three favorite props for the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Keegan Bradley top-20 finish (+190 FanDuel)

Keegan Bradley is coming off a strong performance at the PGA Championship in which he had his best ball-striking week of the season. The American led the field in strokes gained from off the tee and ranked 12th in strokes gained from tee to green, per Data Golf's numbers. He also ranks second in approaches from 150-175 yards, which should be a crucial distance this week. That type of ball-striking form is exactly what we're looking for this week.

Bradley has now finished T22 or better in three of his last four starts, and he's gained strokes with his irons in six straight. He should be able to keep it rolling in a much weaker field than we saw last week.

Tony Finau top-10 finish (+275 DraftKings)

Speaking of hot ball strikers, there aren't many players hitting it better than Tony Finau right now. Finau led the field in strokes gained on approach at the PGA Championship. The veteran ranks fourth on the PGA Tour this season in strokes gained on approach and ninth in strokes gained from tee to green.

In eight career starts at Colonial, Finau has finished worse than T34 only once. He has two top-five finishes at this golf course in his last five appearances. We're not confident enough in Finau's putting to bet him outright, but he's a good bet to finish inside the top 10 because of his high ball-striking floor.

Tournament matchup: Brian Harman > Si Woo Kim (-120 DK)

Short-course expert Brian Harman is a perfect target for a matchup bet this week. In 11 career starts at Colonial, the 37-year-old has six top-25 finishes and three top-10s. He's missed the cut only twice in those 11 starts. Harman is also coming off an encouraging T26 finish at Valhalla in which he had his best approach week since his T2 at the Players Championship in March.

Si Woo Kim has a sky-high ceiling because of his ball-striking prowess, but he ranks 165th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained from putting. Putting is crucial at Colonial, which is partly why Kim has four missed cuts and only one finish better than T66 in seven starts at this golf course. Harman's hot iron play and elite putting make him a much safer bet this week.
