Jordan Spieth fans have received another promising update, as the 2015 Masters champion's recovery from successful left wrist surgery is going according to plan.

Spieth joined Drew Stoltz and former PGA Tour player Colt Knost on SiriusXM PGA Tour radio's 'Gravy & The Sleeze' last week, saying he doesn't feel any pain after undergoing surgery in August and is progressing towards his return.

“It feels good. None of the shots, you know, I don't really have any problems with it,” Spieth said during the interview. “No pain, no anything. So now it's kind of just taking care of it, continuing to do therapy probably through the new year, and just be prepared to go start playing some golf and be prepared to play three weeks in a row."

Spieth mentioned he went three months without hitting a golf ball or swinging a club -- which might as well be a century for a professional golfer. Naturally, there were some kinks to iron out early in the process, but the Dallas, Texas native is back on track.

“At the beginning, it was like kind of laughable... three months of not hitting a ball, and then the center of the face seems really hard to do and far away,” he said. “I could find fat toe and thin heel back-to-back shots pretty easily... now it’s pretty good.”

The 13-time PGA Tour winner also shed some insight about possibly appearing in Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore 2, as he was on-site during filming along with current pros Rickie Fowler, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, and Keegan Bradley, and all-time greats Lee Trevino and Jack Nicklaus.

Timeline of Wrist Problems

Spieth, currently down to 64th in the Official World Golf Ranking, hasn't been fully healthy for the past two seasons, and it was fairly obvious given his inconsistency. However, his left wrist issues actually began way back in late 2017 during a training session, but he elected not to get it fixed despite having flare-ups over the years. After all, he was rattling off wins at an elite clip early in his career and didn't want to jeopardize months away from the game on the sidelines.

But then, years later, in May 2023, after Spieth was playing with his son, Sammy, he felt something pop as he was exiting the pool and was forced to withdraw from the AT&T Byron Nelson.

Then, after a poor performance while representing the United States at the 2023 Ryder Cup in Italy, Spieth returned home to Dallas and re-aggravated his wrist injury in a wild accident involving a toaster. Spieth said he was "reaching for a toaster to make my son breakfast" and hurt his wrist while "supporting it on the shelf.” One of the strangest injuries in PGA Tour history ultimately led to an ulnar nerve damage diagnosis.

Spieth attempted to battle through the issues again in 2024, leading to a career-low three top-10 finishes and a career-high eight missed cuts. He missed the TOUR Championship for the first time since 2020 and ranked 131st in SG: Approach. After failing to qualify for the second round of the PGA Tour's postseason, Spieth finally pulled the trigger on wrist surgery in late August, effectively removing him from the 2024 U.S. Presidents Cup roster.

“It’s kind of been something this year where that kind of dislocation has happened 20-some odd times since February, and it started to happen more and more,” Spieth said. “So it was something that couldn’t fix itself with rest, unfortunately. So that’s why I ended up having to do this.”

While Spieth didn't indicate when or where he'll make his return during the 2025 season, the three-time major winner seems optimistic about his game now that he's finally fully healthy.
