IndyCar Driver David Malukas Hospitalized After Scary Practice Crash

IndyCar driver David Malukas was involved in a horrifying crash during this Saturday's practice session for the Music City Grand Prix.

Malukas, 24, was approaching Turn 2 when his No. 12 Team Penske Chevrolet spun out of control. The rear of the vehicle crashed into the wall, sending his steering wheel out onto the track.

It was revealed that Malukas spent roughly an hour at the Vanderbilt LifeFlight care center before being transported to the hospital. According to IndyCar Deputy Medical Director Dr. Angela Fiege, the plan is for Malukas to receive further evaluation and testing.

An additional update on Malukas should be shared in the coming hours.

Familiar territory for Malukas.

Believe it or not, Malukas was hospitalized during last year's Music City Grand Prix due to a collision with Louis Foster.

“David’s doing well. He’s awake, he’s alert, he’s in really good spirits. We’re just sending him down to our trauma center for some precautionary evaluation and advanced imaging,’ IndyCar medical advisor Dr. Julia Vaizer said after the crash.

We can't imagine how frustrated Malukas is right now that he once again was involved in a brutal crash in Nashville, Tennessee.

Hopefully, Malukas makes a full and speedy recovery.
