Aaron Judge entered Wednesday as a question mark in the New York Yankees lineup, slashing. 248/.375/.533 with 17 home runs, 38 RBIs and 43 runs scored in 59 games. The 34-year-old captain, who has claimed three of the past four American League MVP awards, sat out Tuesday's loss to the Cleveland Guardians with a bone bruise in his right rib cage and is considered day-to-day.

The injury may help explain a rare cold stretch. In his last 10 games, Judge is batting just .184 with seven hits, one home run and eight RBIs. Jose Caballero started in right field in his place on Tuesday, and manager Aaron Boone said he believes the team caught the issue in time to avoid something more serious.

The Yankees enter Wednesday at 36-24, second in the AL East and one game back of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Judge, though, will not be idle away from the diamond. The Roommates Show, the podcast hosted by New York Knicks guards Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, announced Tuesday that Judge will join them for a live episode at Fanatics Fest NYC on July 16.

The event runs July 16-19 at the Javits Center in New York City and overlaps with the FIFA World Cup at nearby MetLife Stadium. Judge is among more than 30 athletes and entertainers who are slated to appear, a group that includes Kevin Durant, Freddie Freeman and Tom Brady.

The booking pairs Judge with two of the city’s biggest basketball stars as the Knicks open the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. It also offers Yankees fans a rare, relaxed look at their captain, as his rib injury does not stretch deeper into the summer.
