Aaron Judge offers high praise of Mike Trout following slugfest at Yankee Stadium

In an epic battle that featured seven home runs and 21 runs scored, the New York Yankees defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 11-10, on Monday night by way of a walk-off wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth. Isn’t baseball great?

On a night in which it seemed Yankee Stadium was unwilling to hold any flyballs, a pair of three-time MVPs, Aaron Judge and Mike Trout, both mashed two baseballs out of the yard. Yankees outfielder Trent Grisham added two homers of his own, including the most clutch of them all, which tied the game in the ninth inning. Even typically light-hitting Yankees infielder Jose Caballero got in on the act with an early solo shot for the home team.

Trout has always enjoyed swinging the bat at Yankee Stadium. The future Hall of Famer now has 10 homers over 31 games in The Bronx, owning a 1.116 OPS with 22 runs driven in across 136 plate appearances. 

Trout’s success in NYC, and overall for his illustrious career, is not lost on Judge. Following his club’s much-needed win, which snapped a five-game losing streak, the Yankee captain heaped some high praise Trout’s way. Judge even went so far as to label Trout “the greatest of all-time.”
