The Braves farm system is in so much better shape than it has been in years, and every time Baseball America updates their top 100 prospects list, it’s a perfect example of why.
Atlanta began the season with three top-100 prospects — Cam Caminiti, JR Ritchie, and Didier Fuentes. Earlier this season a fourth joined the list in Eric Hartman, and now 2025 first-round selection Tate Southisene has entered the top 100, clocking in at number 95.
Didier Fuentes recently graduated prospect status after spending most of the first two months of the season with the major-league club, but considering he’s not even 21-years-old yet, he might as well still be considered a prospect. He’s just so far ahead of the curb compared to other players his age, and if he were still a prospect, he’d almost certainly top this list. That’s how impressive he’s been so far in 2026.
Southisene has been equally as sensational on the farm, flashing an elite contact bat with incredible speed and some real surprising power. At just 19 years old, he already has 35 stolen bases and eight home runs in just 48 games.
It’s been too long since we’ve been able to discuss the Braves farm system this way. They now have a significant amount of young talent at all levels, and they are about to add a ton more during this year’s draft, including two first-round selections.
Atlanta doesn’t have to make a substantial splash at the trade deadline. They have a team that’s good enough to make a run at the World Series with just a few tweaks, but it’s good to know they have the ammunition to do whatever they desire, something that couldn’t always be said in years past.
