Arizona Diamondbacks Showing Off Tremendous Power

The Arizona Diamondbacks have been powered by their offense in 2025. Third Baseman Eugenio Suarez hit a grand slam in this afternoon’s game against the Seattle Mariners to help them prevail 5-2. The team is no stranger to the grand slam. They have eight grand slams this year. That is tied for the most by a team before July. They joined the 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers and 2018 Cincinnati Reds on this exclusive list. Arizona has nearly three weeks to hold this record. Will the Arizona Diamondbacks continue to be paced by their offense?

Arizona Diamondbacks Season Summary

It has been a mediocre start to the season for the Diamondbacks. They are 34-34 this year. Arizona’s offense has been one of the league’s best. They are sixth in the league in batting average, third in home runs, and fourth in runs scored. Right Fielder Corbin Carroll is fifth in the league in home runs. Suarez is tied with his teammate in this category.

The pitching staff of the Diamondbacks has been horrendous. They are 25th in the league in ERA , 22nd in WHIP, and 18th in opposing batting average. To add insult to injury, Starting Pitcher Corbin Burnes will be out for the season after undergoing Tommy John Surgery. He is in the first season of the six-year $210 million contract he signed during the offseason.

Final Thoughts

The Diamondbacks have a day off tomorrow before beginning a three-game set at home against the San Diego Padres. Arizona has a stellar offense, but has been unable to overcome a slow start from their pitching staff. For the team to reach its full potential, they must get better production on the mound.
