Nearly every game at the Major League Baseball level, provides a dazzling, defensive play. Infielders make diving stops while outfielders rob home runs.
But every so often, a play comes around, that is worthy of joining the debate over the greatest catch in the history of MLB.
All-time candidates for the greatest catch in MLB history, usually involve Willie Mays', 'The Catch' in 1954 or Jim Edmonds' fully stretched, diving catch in centerfield in 1997.
Well, on Monday night, during the bottom of the first inning of Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels, Athletics' centerfielder, Denzel Clarke entered an unreal play as a candidate for catch of the year as well as potentially the greatest catch ever made on a baseball field.

Nolan Schanuel gave an 86 mph splitter a ride to deep centerfield. Clarke not only leapt halfway over the wall, but he was able to use the top of the fence to keep his body from propelling over the fence entirely.
This insane catch may be the one that finally breaks the internet, as fans have rushed to social media to post their initial reactions to the mind blowing play.
One user on X thinks it's the best catch ever, "That was the greatest catch I have ever seen."
Another user on X feels the catch cracks the top-five of all-time, "That's got to be in the top 5 of all-time."
To fully appreciate the magical catch, MLB posted multiple images and slow motion videos of the spectacular play to their official X account.

Another user on X thinks it's the best catch they've ever seen as well, "i don't think i've ever seen a better catch."
"Imagine losing your home run parlay over this," @imFlama posted on X.
Another user thinks Clarke channeled an old baseball movie to make this catch, "Definitely straight out of Angels in the outfield."
The 25-year-old, Clarke has flashed the leather multiple times this week, but none have broken the internet quite like Monday night's home-run-robbery.
