Bo Bichette remains unsigned in MLB free agency as he searches for his next home. The 27-year-old stands out as one of the most intriguing players still available, and his willingness to shift from shortstop to second base has only increased his appeal.

While defensive struggles up the middle have raised questions, Bichette’s bat leaves little doubt about his value. He has spent his entire seven-year career with the Toronto Blue Jays, who remain interested in bringing back their homegrown star.

Despite concerns about his glove, Bichette continues to produce at an elite level offensively. In 2025, he appeared in 139 games and posted a .311 batting average, .357 on-base percentage, .840 OPS, 44 doubles, 18 home runs and 94 RBIs.

That combination of positional flexibility and consistent offensive production has kept his market strong, making Bichette one of the most closely watched names in this year’s free agent class.

As Bichette weighs his next move on the field, life off the diamond has been just as eventful. In July 2025, it was revealed that Bichette and his partner, Alexis, had become engaged earlier that spring.

Reports at the time noted the couple’s plans to marry in January 2026, a milestone that took place over the weekend.

The news surfaced through a post from Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman’s wife, who shared a celebratory message on Instagram that read, “loved celebrating mr. and mrs. bichette!!! ❣️❣️”

Known for keeping his personal life extremely private, Bichette himself does not maintain any social media accounts.

The wedding also served as a reminder of Bichette’s deep ties to Toronto, with Gausman and other former teammates in attendance.

That continued presence around the Blue Jays’ core could play a role in shaping his decision, as the organization remains eager to bring him back and reunite with one of its most productive hitters.

If Toronto were to bring Bichette back, it would cap what could be considered the best offseason in franchise history.

His success as a two-time All-Star underscores the significance of such a move, adding to a winter already filled with notable acquisitions designed to keep pace with the league’s top contenders.

Selected by the Blue Jays in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Bichette has grown into one of the organization’s most accomplished players.

Fresh off a World Series appearance in 2025, the Blue Jays would once again position themselves as the team to beat heading into 2026.
