Braves-Mets game postponed; doubleheader set for Wednesday

Tuesday night's scheduled game between the Atlanta Braves and Mets in New York was postponed due to heavy rain in the forecast.

The National Weather Service forecasted up to 2 inches of rain with winds reaching 15 mph later in the evening.

This game will be made up as part of a split-doubleheader on Wednesday.

The Braves are expected to send left-hander Chris Sale and right-hander Grant Holmes to the mound on Wednesday, while the Mets likely will turn to righty Christian Scott and lefty Sean Manaea. It is not immediately known which pitchers will start Game 1 or Game 2 on Wednesday.

The Mets recorded a 14-3 romp over their National League East rival in the series opener on Monday.
