Brewers Announce Decision on Jackson Chourio After 158 Games

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio is one of the brightest young pieces on the roster. Now in his third season, he has continued to excel in all aspects of the game.

He continues to grade as an above-average defensive outfielder in the corner spots, has swiped 22 stolen bases in just 123 games and has mashed 24 home runs, marking his third straight 20-20 season to open his career.

He has posted a .283 batting average, .342 on-base percentage and .819 OPS, continuing to improve his power output. The Brewers own MLB’s best record and have clinched a first-round bye in the postseason once again, and it is hard to imagine them doing so without Chourio.

The only issue that has held Chourio back in his career is his health. He was injured during the 2025 postseason run with a right hamstring strain that had him below full strength when it mattered most.

With Milwaukee already locked into the playoffs, keeping him healthy is their biggest priority.

On Thursday, that meant taking Chourio out of the lineup for the series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies, with manager Pat Murphy opting to go with Sal Frelick in left field instead.

Chourio missed the first month of the season with a left hand fracture, and the Brewers are trying to avoid anything similar happening with just four games remaining in the regular season.

He should still be available off the bench in a pinch-hit situation if Milwaukee needs him. If not, he will look to return to the starting nine Friday in a series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals.
