Brewers' Jackson Chourio Makes MLB History Sunday Night

The Milwaukee Brewers entered Sunday with the best record in baseball, and Jackson Chourio is a big part of that.

Chourio started the season on the injured list after fracturing his hand during the World Baseball Classic. That, however, did not stop him from posting another 20-homer, 20-steal season. He joined Julio Rodriguez and Bobby Witt Jr. as the only players to post a 20-20 season in three straight seasons to start a career.

Chourio is now the only player in MLB history to post three 20-20 seasons before turning 23 years old.

He made his debut when he was only 20 years old. He was the No. 2 prospect in baseball in 2024, and the Brewers signed him to an eight-year, $82 million extension before he ever played in a big-league game.

Chourio has done nothing but produce since joining the Brewers, but this has been his best year. His defense has been Gold Glove caliber, and despite missing the first month of the season, he is having a career year at the plate. He has a career-high 24 home runs. He has a .825 OPS, which is also a career best.

Among left fielders, he is third in home runs, seventh in RBIs, third in runs, fourth in OPS and fourth in batting average.

He has not only been great in the regular season since making his debut, but he has been elite in October. In 12 postseason games, he has a .341/.362/.682 slash line with four home runs. He is already tied for the most postseason home runs in franchise history.
