It will be a relief for the Arizona D-Backs after a stressful week if they can pull off a sweep against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday.

The D-Backs took the first two games of the series and will look to keep up their recent hot streak at the plate. Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte are leading the way for this ball club. IF they keep the focus, it can only go up from here.
Arizona will have Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound today. E-Rod’s last outing was his first start back after dealing with right shoulder inflammation. Rodriguez pitched five innings while only allowing two earned runs on six hits. There was a lot of speculation about what E-Rod’s role would be after his return from the IL, but since other injuries have occurred to their pitching staff, Rodriguez will be locked into the starting rotation it seems. Rodriguez will at least get in some sort of groove for this D-Bavks ball club if they want to succeed the rest of this season.
Bryan Woo will be on the mound for Seattle on Wednesday. Woo’s last outing he went six innings but gave up four earned runs on four hits to the struggling Baltimore Orioles. Arizona will have their opportunities on Wednesday and should be able to capitalize if they continue to execute at the plate.
It was a great sight to see Gabriel Moreno get back on track after a hand injury, guys like Lourdes Gurriel Jr. have come on as of late to help the stars like Carroll and Marte out. The problem of leaving runners in scoring position seems to be fading. With their pitching problems, that will be key to getting back in the run of things. Wednesday afternoon is an opportunity for Arizona to sweep the Seattle Mariners and keep themselves in this fight for the NL West before things get out of hand. Arizona’s bats came alive on Tuesday night and the D-Backs will hope to keep that trend alive on Wednesday afternoon.
