The Toronto Blue Jays are heading into the 2026 MLB season looking to hold on to the momentum that carried the franchise to its first World Series appearance since 1993.

While the 40‑man roster has undergone significant change, much of the core remains intact, including center fielder Daulton Varsho. Now entering his fourth season in Toronto, the 29-year-old continues to excel on both sides of the ball.

Varsho posted a .238 batting average, .284 on base percentage, .833 OPS, 20 home runs and 55 RBIs across 71 games in 2025 while playing standout defense.

He missed a substantial stretch due to multiple injuries but is expected to enter Spring Training fully healthy. Acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2022 for catcher Gabriel Moreno, Varsho is entering his final season under team control.

As Varsho continues to expand his game, he has built a strong reputation as one of the sport’s better all‑around players with a growing presence, especially in Canada.

On Thursday, he took to social media to announce a new partnership with Franklin Sports, a company known for producing equipment across several sports, including baseball.

In a joint Instagram post, Varsho revealed he will be receiving his own custom batting gloves, which will be available for fans to purchase. “Ready Before First Pitch. @daultonvarsho Customs. | Inside the Glove Room,” the post read.

Before arriving in Toronto, Varsho established himself as one of the most unique young players in the league. He entered pro ball as a catcher before transitioning to the outfield full time, a move that showcased his athleticism and allowed his defensive tools to flourish.

That versatility was a major reason the Blue Jays targeted him, believing his blend of power, speed and defensive value would translate immediately.

Since then, Varsho has become one of baseball’s premier defensive outfielders. He earned a Gold Glove in 2024, a reflection of his elite jumps, range and instincts, and the Blue Jays have relied on him to anchor center field at a high level.

Offensively, his power continues to develop, and the organization expects further growth as he enters a pivotal contract year.

A fully healthy and ascending Varsho remains one of Toronto’s most important pieces heading into 2026.
