Kyle Tucker’s first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers has been a major disappointment, to say the least.
The All-Star outfielder signed a lucrative four-year, $240 million deal with Los Angeles in the offseason, but he has not proven to be a worthy investment, especially as of late.
After going 0-for-19 during the Dodgers’ six-game homestand and getting booed on Sunday after missing a flyball, Tucker went 0-for-5 at the plate on Monday and once again dropped a routine flyball during the club’s win over the Colorado Rockies.
Tucker is also now hitless over his last 25 at-bats.
It’s getting brutal for Kyle Tucker.

It’s just been a lost season for Tucker and his recent performance has been so bad that Dodgers analyst Eric Karros is calling for Los Angeles to make a major decision on the 29-year-old.
During Monday night’s broadcast, Karros called for the Dodgers to demote Tucker to the team’s Arizona Complex League for what he calls “a reset.”
“I honestly think the best thing right now is a reset,” Karros said. “You’ve got a month and a half and you’ve tried things here. Like I said, I think you need a reset. I think you need to go to Arizona, start working on some things, change some things.”
“You’ve got to remove all the, ‘Hey he was a free agent signing, hey he’s this, hey he’s that,'” Karros added. “What you have in front of you is you have a guy who is struggling, who is uber-talented and can be one of the best players in the game. … But I just feel like this is just spinning wheels.”
Eric Karros suggests the Dodgers should send Kyle Tucker to Arizona for a reset.

Through 118 games this season, Tucker is slashing just .230/.326/.366 with 11 home runs, 54 RBI and a .692 OPS. Tucker’s defense, however, has especially been concerning.
He began play Monday ranked in the fifth percentile in all of Major League Baseball with -7 Outs Above Average and also has -9 Defensive Runs Saved.
If the Dodgers choose to demote their $240 million outfielder, they would need Tucker’s consent, which of course, is no guarantee.
It has been a brutal first season for Tucker in a Dodgers uniform and only time will tell until the once-reliable outfielder can get back to being the player the team knows he is capable of being.
