Francisco Lindor Joins Shohei Ohtani For MLB Lead in Crucial Stat After Home Run vs. Dodgers
USA TODAY Sports

Francisco Lindor continues to prove why he's not only one the best shortstops in Major League Baseball, but one of the best overall players. Lindor has showcased many talents throughout his 11-year-career, but 2025 has proven to be his best power display to date.

Lindor crushed home run No. 14 on the season to lead off Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Lindor turned on a 95 mph sinker from Dustin May, sending a 417-foot blast into the right field stands.

The dinger was Lindor's sixth lead off home run to start a game this season, tying the Dodgers Shohei Ohtani for the MLB lead.

Lindor and the New York Mets have enjoyed incredible success when Lindor hits a home run. The Mets have won 26 consecutive games when he hits a home run.

As of Monday, he's also hit four home runs in his last four games. Lindor is locked all the way in at the plate, helping lead the Mets to a 37-22 record heading into Monday night's tilt with the reigning World Series champion Dodgers.

Despite offseason acquisition, Juan Soto's early-season struggles, the Mets find themselves atop the National League East, one game ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies (36-23).

While Lindor has always put his team's success ahead of his own, Lindor is following up last season's NL MVP runner-up finish (to Ohtani) with another legitimate run at the coveted award.

Lindor has finished in the top-10 in MVP voting six times in his career. On the seaon, Lindor has driven in 35 RBIs, scored 39 runs, and stolen 10 bases to go along with his .284 batting average.
