The Los Angeles Dodgers failed to enter the postseason as a top-two seed in the National League for the first time since 2021, and as a result needed to play in a Wild Card Series while also now not having home-field advantage for the Division Series.

Playing against the team with the best home record in baseball, the Dodgers won both games on the road against the Philadelphia Phillies and held the NLDS advantage firmly in their favor heading into Game 3.

Much was made about the Dodgers winning two games at Citizens Bank Park, where Phillies fans have established a reputation for making their presence felt. To Max Muncy, the Dodger Stadium environment deserves recognition as one of the best in baseball as well.

“This place has an aura about it,” Muncy said. “It’s the biggest capacity in baseball. Everybody talks about it when you come here, the lights seem a little brighter. The music seems a little louder — that might actually be because it is a little louder.

“That’s part of the perks of being at Dodger Stadium, we have that sound system. It sounds silly to say something like a sound system could be an advantage, but it really is.

“When the speakers in center field are cranking and the crowd is going absolutely nuts and you feel the field shaking beneath your feet, it’s a really big advantage. And that’s something we’ve always had here.”

The sheer capacity inside Dodger Stadium is what makes the experience of playing truly unique compared to other venues.

“When we’ve had those big moments, there’s arguably no place that can get louder than Dodger Stadium, especially in the postseason,” Muncy said. “When you have 56, 57,000 people screaming all at the same time in a big moment, it’s pretty wild.

“That’s an advantage that we’ve always had here, and the guys love it. There’s just something about this place where it always just seems a little different.”

Dodger Stadium attendance for 2025

The Dodgers reached 4 million in home attendance this season for the first time in franchise history.

The Dodgers averaged more than 49,000 fans per game for only the second time ever. They also did so in 2019 with an average attendance of 49,066.

Dodgers attendance for the 2025 season averaged 49,537 fans per game.
