Miguel Vargas Named AL Player of the Week

Over the weekend, Vargas became the first White Sox player to post 30 home runs, 30 doubles, 20 stolen bases and 100 runs in the same season, completing the club in Saturday’s win over Detroit. Around that milestone, he had 33 homers, 31 doubles, 20 steals, and 101 runs.

Vargas also homered in that 3-1 win over the Tigers on Saturday, another reminder of how often he has carried nights for the South Side. Player of the Week is the latest stamp on a breakout that has already rewritten the franchise’s single-season checklist.
