The slide just won’t stop for the Milwaukee Brewers, would it? Another loss, another concern, and now the situation is starting to feel bigger than just a rough stretch. Sunday’s 8-6 defeat to the Washington Nationals pushed the skid to five straight, and the roster is beginning to look worn down.
Injuries, too, are stacking up at the worst possible time. Key pieces are already sidelined, and the lineup hasn’t had a chance to stabilize. Just when Milwaukee needed its veterans to anchor stuff, a fresh scare happened.
As reported on April 13, 2026, by ClutchPoints, Brewers manager Pat Murphy didn’t sound optimistic after Christian Yelich exited early with left hamstring tightness. The veteran DH felt discomfort during his second at-bat and was pulled in the fifth inning despite Milwaukee holding a lead at that moment. Initial imaging only deepened concerns.
“We’re most likely going to get some bad news on Yelich.”

Murphy also revealed there was fluid in the area, raising the likelihood of a more serious issue. Yelich had been off to a strong start, hitting .314 with steady production through 15 games. With multiple starters already out and the team reeling, this potential setback could hit Milwaukee even harder than the losing streak itself.
Brandon Sproat avoided a major injury scare, giving Milwaukee a much-needed breather after Saturday’s loss to the Washington Nationals. The young arm checked out fine despite a scary moment late in the game.
Sproat took a hard fall on a diving play and was checked twice, but stayed in and finished his outing. By Sunday morning, he confirmed everything felt good, easing immediate concerns around his availability.
It’s big for the Milwaukee Brewers, especially with early injuries piling up. Sproat has struggled so far, but staying off the IL keeps the rotation intact as the Brewers try to stay in the NL Central race.
