MLB Announces 2027 Little League Classic Matchup

This year’s Little League Classic saw the Atlanta Braves play the Milwaukee Brewers, marking the first time those two teams played in Williamsport in front of the Little League talent coming from all across the world.

The Little League Classic first began in 2017, when the St. Louis Cardinals played the Pittsburgh Pirates. Aside from the COVID-shortened 2020 season, this fabulous event has taken place every year, with teams like the New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Angels, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, and Seattle Mariners playing.

Major League Baseball has certainly done a great job carrying on this magnificent tradition every year, giving little baseball players all across the world not only a chance to watch some of their favorite players up close, but also a chance to meet and hang out with them.

More than 70 MLB players have appeared in the Little League World Series. Some of the most notable include Cody Bellinger, Ceddanne Rafaela, Michael Conforto, Scott Kingery and Randal Grichuk. The aforementioned Conforto is also one of just three players to appear in the Little League Baseball World Series, Men’s College World Series and Major League Baseball’s World Series, joining only Jason Varitek and Ed Vosberg.

The Blue Jays and Cubs are next in line to head to Williamsport next year. The game will take place on Thursday, August 19, 2027 and will air exclusively on ESPN and in Canada on Sportsnet at 7:10 p.m. (ET)/6:10 p.m. (CT).
