Due to how long the process has dragged on — and how little has leaked out — many now suspect the Braves’ top managerial target is Dodgers bench coach Danny Lehmann.
The 40-year-old has steadily climbed the organizational ladder in Los Angeles over the past decade, beginning as a video scout in 2015 and eventually earning his spot as bench coach on one of the most forward-thinking coaching staffs in baseball. Lehmann also worked alongside Alex Anthopoulos during his time with the Dodgers in 2016 and 2017, which only adds to the speculation that he could be Atlanta’s preferred choice.
Lehmann could be in the mix for all three of the remaining managerial openings, and MLB insider Jon Morosi confirmed on Sunday that the Braves have indeed considered him as part of their ongoing search.
Now that the World Series is over, the managerial opportunities for Dodgers bench coach Danny Lehmann could become clearer.

With the World Series now in the rearview mirror, the Braves’ managerial search should begin to accelerate.
The theory surrounding Danny Lehmann makes plenty of sense. He’s young — which seems to have become almost a prerequisite for managerial consideration these days — and he’s widely respected across the league for his analytically driven approach. Add in his direct connection to Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos from their time together in Los Angeles, and it’s easy to see why many believe Lehmann could be Atlanta’s top target.
