The Colorado Rockies are selling a delicious $45 giant hot dog, AKA a glizzy, that costs far more than a single game ticket.

Expectations are awfully low for a Colorado Rockies team that went 43-119 last year, the worst record in franchise history. Friday’s ugly 10-1 home loss to the Philadelphia Phillies dropped them to 2-5 on the season.

Fortunately, the Rockies don’t have to sell fans on their team performance to sell tickets. The NL club has won over some fans by offering a $45 glizzy at Coors Field.

The Rockies call this the “Glizzilla,” per Brett Forrest. It weighs one pound and consists of a 23-inch glizzy on a 19-inch sub roll:

Depending on the website, some places offer single-game Rockies tickets for anywhere from $10 to $15. The glizzy may cost a lot, but it’s nice comfort food if you’re watching a lousy on-field product on gameday.

Colorado Rockies Wrap Up Series vs. Philadelphia Phillies On Sunday

The Rockies stunned the defending AL champion Toronto Blue Jays by taking two of three at the Rogers Centre earlier this week. It was a nice bounce-back series after being swept by the Miami Marlins, but losing 10-1 in the home opener was obviously a major letdown.

Colorado can still salvage the series against a far superior Phillies team, however. If not, they oughta at least avoid a sweep when they wrap up their series with Philadelphia on Sunday (3:10 p.m. EST).

After that series, the Rockies will begin a three-game slate with the Houston Astros on Wednesday.
