MLB's No. 1 Prospect, Roman Anthony, Reveals League Status in Viral Video

The Boston Red Sox hold a 32-35 record and sit in fourth place in the AL East, 8.5 games behind the division-leading New York Yankees.

After they have continued to show inconsistency throughout the 2025 season, it seems that it's time for them to make a big call to the minors.

There's been a ton of speculation surrounding the MLB's No. 1 minor league prospect, Roman Anthony, and when the Red Sox are going to make the call to bring him up to the big leagues for his major league debut.

Monday seems to be the day for Anthony, and it's been reported that Boston has called the 21-year-old outfielder up to play in his MLB debut.

A lot of fans and insiders were wondering when the day would come for Anthony to make his debut, thinking that he would stay in Triple-A so the Red Sox could save another year for contract reasons.

This is obviously not the case, and he will be joining the Red Sox as they look to take on their AL East rival, the Tampa Bay Rays.

Roman Anthony confirms his call-up in video while driving in his car

The news began to spread fast, and there has been a video that has released of the 21-year-old confirming the news himself.

"Roman, are you headed out?" A fan asked him in the video while he's in his car.

"Yeah," Anthony responded as he drove on.

Roman Anthony has dominated his first year in Triple-A Worcester. He's logged a .288 BA, .423 OBP, .491 SLG, and .914 OPS while hitting 10 home runs and 29 RBI in 58 games played.

He was drafted in the second round (79th overall) in the 2022 MLB Draft.

Anthony will be starting in the Red Sox series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday. He'll be batting fifth in the lineup behind shortstop Trevor Story.
