Mookie Betts could return to the Boston Red Sox following the 2020 season. While it seems highly unlikely, the star outfielder fueled some speculation about his future with his recent social media activity.
The Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder has been "liking" many of the Red Sox's social media posts on Instagram, as noted by Jared Carrabis of Barstool Sports, and many responded with the screenshots to prove it.
I won't read into Mookie Betts liking every Red Sox post on Instagram. I won't read into Mookie Betts liking every Red Sox post on Instagram. I won't read into Mookie Betts liking every Red Sox post on Instagram.

Boston traded Betts to L.A. in February as part of a multi-player deal that included David Price and landed the Red Sox Alex Verdugo, Jeter Downs and Connor Wong in return.
Betts will be a free agent this coming offseason and is seeking a deal worth over $400 million. The former American League MVP could opt to stay with the Dodgers if they give him a deal he's looking for, though it appears he'll be ready to test the market.
If Betts does decide to test the market, some Red Sox players are prepared to recruit him back to Boston, including shortstop Xander Bogaerts.
The Red Sox would've received a haul in exchange for a shortened season of Betts in L.A., especially if he decides to return to Boston. Talk about a potential steal.
