The New York Yankees had a historic two-game stretch at the plate on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays. New York tied the MLB record with 14 home runs over their last two games. The New York Yankees also made history as the second team ever with five players having multiple home runs over a two-game span. Those players were Trent Grisham, Giancarlo Stanton, Cody Bellinger, Jose Caballero, and Austin Wells.
Lastly, New York scored all 19 of their runs over the last two games off the home run. That is the most runs any MLB team has ever scored over a two-game span, with all of them coming on longballs. Can the offense of the New York Yankees keep it going as they gear up for a crucial series?

As was on display the last two days down in Tampa, New York’s offense is extremely potent. They are ninth in the league in batting average, leading the league in home runs by a sizable margin, and second in runs scored. Reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge is putting together another MVP-caliber campaign. He is leading the league in batting average, OBP, Slugging Percentage, OPS, and WAR. Judge is also fourth in home runs and fifth in RBI. The Yankees are in second place in the American League East and occupy the top AL wild-card spot.
The Yankees will be riding high when they welcome the Boston Red Sox to town for a four-game set beginning tonight. If New York’s offense can continue playing this well, the team will have a strong chance to win the AL pennant for the second consecutive season.
