Orioles interested in reunion with Matt Harvey

According to MLB Network's Jon Heyman , the Baltimore Orioles may bring a familiar face back to the rotation as they've shown interest in bringing back starting pitcher Matt Harvey, who spent the 2021 season with the team. 

Harvey made 28 starts for the Orioles in 2021 after starting only a combined 16 games in 2019 and 2020 with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Kansas City Royals. 

Last season, Harvey went 6-14 for Baltimore, finishing with a 6.27 ERA in 127.2 innings pitched. 

Harvey was drafted seventh overall by the New York Mets in the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

In 2013, his first full season with New York, Harvey went 9-5 with a 2.27 ERA and was named a National League All-Star. He also finished fourth in the Cy Young voting behind Jose Fernandez, Adam Wainwright and 2013 Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw. 

He spent six seasons with the Mets, going 34-37 with a 3.66 ERA in 104 starts. 

In 2018, Harvey was traded to the Cincinnati Reds for Devin Mesoraco. He made 24 starts for the Reds, going 7-7 with a 4.50 ERA. 

For his career, Harvey has compiled a 50-66 record with a career ERA of 4.42.
