Padres Sign Five-Year Veteran to Minors Deal
USA TODAY Sports

The San Diego Padres signed southpaw Paul Fry to a minor league deal.

His deal does not include an invitation to major league spring training.

Fry has spent five years in the major leagues with the Baltimore Orioles and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

In his five-year career, he's recorded a 7-16 win-loss record, 4.82 ERA, 194 strikeouts, 4.02 FIP, and a 1.43 WHIP in 188 games and 177.1 innings pitched. The relief pitcher recorded his best ERA in the 2020 shortened season with a 2.45 ERA and a 1-0 record in 22 games.

He'll add relief depth to the Padres organization.

His last outing in the majors wasn't pleasant, but let's hope that all changes in his time in San Diego.
