The Boston Red Sox sent shockwaves through Major League Baseball on Sunday night. After sweeping their biggest rivals, the New York Yankees, Boston stunned fans by unexpectedly trading away their top offensive star, Rafael Devers.

The surprising move left many around the league scrambling to understand it, but the deal is official: Devers is no longer a member of the Red Sox.

In return, Boston received two promising young pitchers who will join the MLB roster immediately. The team welcomed the newcomers with a simple message on social media.

"Welcome to the Red Sox, Kyle & Jordan."

Kyle Harrison, 23, made his MLB debut in 2023 and became the youngest Giants pitcher to debut since Madison Bumgarner in 2009.

This season, Harrison made four starts and holds a 1-1 record with a 4.56 ERA.

Last season, he went 7-7 over 24 starts, also finishing with a 4.56 ERA. He struck out 118 batters and walked 42.

His most recent start came on June 10 against the Colorado Rockies, where he pitched five innings, allowing four hits and three runs. He struck out six and walked two.

Jordan Hicks, 28, began his career with the St. Louis Cardinals and debuted in 2018. Primarily used as a reliever early in his career, Hicks transitioned to a starting role in 2024 with the Giants, making 20 starts.

Last season, he went 4-7 with a 4.10 ERA for San Francisco. In 2025, he has struggled, going 1-5 with a 6.47 ERA through 13 appearances, including nine starts. Recently demoted to the bullpen, Hicks is currently on the 15-day injured list with toe inflammation.
