Jacob Misiorowski and the Milwaukee Brewers took a 2-0 lead in the NLDS over the Chicago Cubs with a 7-3 victory in Game 2.
Milwaukee struck early against Cubs starter Shota Imanaga, forcing the Japanese lefty out by the third inning. Chicago tagged Brewers starter Aaron Ashby for three runs in less than two innings, but Milwaukee’s bullpen held strong. All-Star rookie Jacob Misiorowski entered in the third and shut down the Cubs over three innings.
Misiorowski fired pitches at blazing speeds, setting off radar guns and making history in pitch tracking records.
The 23-year-old became the only pitcher since 2008 to throw multiple pitches over 104.0 mph in a single postseason. His 104.3 mph heater ranks as the second-fastest postseason pitch in that span, just behind Mason Miller’s 104.5 mph last week.
MLB Network’s official X account highlighted Misiorowski’s focused mindset after his dominant relief performance.
“I can’t say that it’s going to be every time at 104, 103 [MPH],” Misiorowski told MLB Network. “But, that’s the goal every time.”

Misiorowski secured his first postseason victory with a masterful relief performance, surrendering only one hit, walking two, and fanning four Cubs. The Brewers now carry a commanding 2-0 lead over their NL Central rivals.
Thursday’s Game 3 in Chicago gives the Brewers a prime chance to sweep the series and punch their ticket to the NL Championship Series for the first time since 2018.
The Brewers’ offense has fired on all cylinders in the NLDS, scoring nine runs in Game 1 and seven in Game 2. Outfielder Jackson Chourio has been a key contributor in both contests. After going 3-for-3 in just two innings of Saturday’s Game 1, Chourio was removed from the game over concerns that his hamstring injury from August might have been aggravated.
Chourio bounced back into the Game 2 lineup, going 2-for-4 and blasting a three-run home run off Cubs closer Daniel Palencia in the fourth inning.
If Milwaukee’s offense keeps up the fire from the first two games in Thursday’s Game 3, Misiorowski may not see the mound until the NLCS. Should the rookie produce another dominant outing on that stage, the Brewers could be on the verge of a World Series run.
