The 'AL Cy Young winners since 1967' quiz

New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole missed the entire 2025 season after having Tommy John surgery in March, and this week he returned to the mound. 

Cole pitched a scoreless inning while throwing just 10 pitches despite allowing two hits in his first frame of Spring Training. The six-time All-Star and 2023 American League Cy Young winner talked about his return to the bump.

“I had a lot of fun out there. I enjoyed it,” he said. “That was my goal for today: no reservations, try not to judge yourself too hard and just have fun.” 

Despite the return, Cole isn’t expected to play in the regular season for the Yankees until May or June. When healthy, the Yankees could boast one of the most fearsome starting rotations with Cole, Max Fried and Carlos Rodon.
