Top Red Sox Prospects Send Heartfelt Message to Former Teammate Amid MLB Debut

After the 2024 season, the Boston Red Sox had four prospects atop their organization. Those four were expected to be the future of the team, but one of them was traded to the Chicago White Sox for ace pitcher Garrett Crochet. He's been incredible for the Red Sox, but the loss of their former top prospect hurt.

Kyle Teel, the Red Sox's former top-three prospect, suited up for his Major League debut with the White Sox. He had two walks and one run, along with his first career hit in a win for the White Sox in his MLB debut.

After his debut, Teel made an Instagram post thanking everyone who helped him get to the big leagues. In the comments, three Red Sox prospects commented with their congratulations for Teel after a successful debut.

Marcelo Mayer, who was called up shortly before Teel, said, "Proud of u ❤️."

Top prospect in baseball, Roman Anthony, said, "Well deserved KT ❤️."

Kristian Campbell, another teammate of Teels from their time in the Red Sox Minor League system, said, "Whooo whooo."

Tell played with all three Red Sox players, and now only Anthony is not in the Major Leagues. With his call-up seemingly eminent, all four could soon be in the Major Leagues.

In 2024, while Campbell was still a bit of an unknown prospect, sitting outside the top 30 prospect rankings for the Red Sox, the other three topped the prospect list for Boston.

Teel was third, Anthony second, and Mayer first within the organization. In 2025, all three are within the top 25 prospects in all of baseball. Teel at 25th, Mayer at eighth, and Anthony at first overall.

Despite Teel no longer being within the Red Sox organization, he still has a connection with his fellow top Red Sox prospects. The support Mayer, Anthony, and Campbell showed Teel is a sign of how much they all got along.

The heartwarming messages they sent to Teel show that even though Teel no longer wears the same colored socks, their bond is still strong.
