Twins Part Ways With Assistant GM Daniel Adler

The Twins and assistant general manager Daniel Adler agreed to part ways, reports Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com. Adler had been with the organization since 2017. Gleeman adds that it’s unclear whether Minnesota will find a replacement for Adler. The organization still has three assistant GMs: Alex Hassan, Sean Johnson, and Josh Kalk.

A Harvard Business School grad, Adler got his start with the Twins as Director of Baseball Operations, per the team directory. He was moved to an assistant GM role in 2019. Adler was bumped up to Vice President in 2021, then became Executive VP in 2025.

Dan Hayes of The Athletic shed more light on Adler’s final title with the team, and what happened to it when the top executives shifted. Adler was originally hired by former team president Derek Falvey and former general manager Thad Levine. Falvey promoted Adler to a hybrid VP role last season that included having a hand in baseball and business operations.

Falvey departed the organization in January. GM Jeremy Zoll stepped into his role. After Falvey left, Adler was no longer part of business operations, per Hayes. Those responsibilities went to new team chairman Tom Pohlad. Adler was put in a reduced role on the baseball side.

The Twins went to the playoffs in three of Adler’s first four seasons in the organization. That included a 101-win season and back-to-back division titles. The club has struggled in recent years. Minnesota has missed the playoffs in three straight seasons.
