The New York Yankees are having a great time after taking out the Oakland Athletics in Game 1. Their offense scored eight runs while the pitching staff surrendered only two. Yet, they are still trailing the Rays, and consistency has been an issue.
The Athletics dropped their top spot in the AL West and are now 1.5 games behind the Seattle Mariners. The A’s are trying to make the playoffs this season, but they still have tough competition with the Texas Rangers trailing right behind.
The first pitch for the Yankees vs. Athletics Game 2 is scheduled to go out at 10:05 pm ET.

The Yanks will turn in Ryan Weathers to the mound for Game 2. Weathers holds a 2-2 record with a 3.14 ERA. The pitcher has had his ups and downs, but seems to be holding on. The Yankees’ offense has been an issue, especially since their offense goes cold in some games.
The bullpen has room for improvement as well. However, top sluggers like Aaron Judge, Ben Rice, and Cody Bellinger seem to be contributing.
The A’s will send J.T. Grinn to the mound as their starter for Game 2. Grinn has a 2-3 record with a 3.19 ERA. The Athletics have been thriving with their young stars throughout this season. Sluggers like Shea Langeliers have played an important role for the team.
The Yanks have a great chance to win another game. The Rays have proved to be a strong opponent in the AL East, and the Yankees must do better to win.
