Mets vs Rockies: If you were ready for Mets baseball on Saturday, the weather had other plans. The New York Mets announced on April 25, 2026, that their game against the Colorado Rockies at Citi Field had been postponed because of bad conditions.

However, fans are getting a baseball overload instead. The Mets vs Rockies will now run it back with a straight doubleheader on Sunday, April 26. First pitch for Game 1 is locked for 1:40 p.m. ET. Gates open at 12:10 p.m., parking lots at 11:40 a.m., and Game 2 starts around 30 to 45 minutes after Game 1 wraps. Basically, clear your Sunday schedule.

Now the important stuff. Per the Mets, Saturday tickets won’t work for Sunday’s doubleheader. Fans with paid tickets will receive a digital voucher inside their My Mets Tickets account, which can be used for select 2026 home games, including Sunday, if seats are available. Prepaid parking passes will also be converted to digital parking vouchers.

Meanwhile, the Mr. Met at the Unisphere Light-Up Bobblehead giveaway and Queens Culture Day have both been moved to a future date.

Mets vs Rockies: Cubs Could Benefit Big Time if Mets Become Deadline Sellers

The Cubs are rolling early in 2026, sitting atop the NL Central after a nine-game heater. However, smart contenders don’t wait around. If Chicago wants October staying power, the trade market could soon get very interesting.

That’s where the struggling Mets enter the chat. If New York keeps sliding, expiring arms like Freddy Peralta and Clay Holmes could become prime deadline targets. Both would give Chicago instant rotation juice without long-term baggage attached.

The Cubs aren’t desperate, but they know pitching wins big games. Last year’s quiet deadline hurt them badly. Adding Peralta or Holmes could be the bold move they missed in 2025. For now, Chicago fans might casually keep one eye on Queens.
