Yankees’ Aaron Judge makes confident claim amid injury recovery

Aaron Judge and his ribs left fans of the New York Yankees briefly concerned. Judge continued to make steps toward recovery back on Tuesday. He dished a confident claim amid his MLB Injury, and before the Yankees face the Houston Astros Thursday.

Judge dropped this statement via Yankees insider for mlb.com Bryan Hoch.

“I’m not really expecting it to take me too long to get the timing back,” Judge said.

Looks like manager Aaron Boone will activate his star power hitter sooner than expected. Although there’s a catch as Hoch further explained.

“Aaron Judge has hit overhand BP (batting practice) once; today could be the second time,” Hoch explained on the social media website X, formerly Twitter. “He said he doesn’t know when he’ll be cleared to face velocity. But he’ll see a mix of Trajekt (pitching machine), machine work and maybe facing rehabbing pitchers like Clarke Schmidt.”

New York is putting him through a series of tests to ensure he’s healthy enough to swing. And a healthy Judge boosts the Yankees’ fan morale as many across the MLB know. New York must lean into Judge and others for another prominent reason, though.

The Yankees still have the Tampa Bay Rays to catch in the American League East standings. Tampa owns a current 79-54 overall record, while NYY remains 3.5 games behind the leader before first pitch of the Astros game. The rival Boston Red Sox aren’t far behind from the Yankees either, standing at 73-60 and sitting in third place in the division race.
